Fall 2016 Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies Lecture Series Announced

The Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies Program invites students, faculty, and the general public to our Fall 2016 Lecture Series. All events are free and will take place in Room 114 of Belk Library at 6:30 p.m. 

Thursday, September 1: Valerie Wieskamp, Assistant Professor of Communication and Faculty Affiliate of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies. “Representing Trauma: Story and Image in Movements to Address Sexual Violence.”

Tuesday, September 20: Ann Pegelow Kaplan, Assistant Professor of Cultural, Gender, and Global Studies, Core Faculty of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies, and Faculty Affiliate of the Department of Art and Interdisciplinary Studies. "Conversations & Confrontations: Art, Activism, and Flipping the Gendered Gaze."

Thursday, October 27: Sushmita Chatterjee, Assistant Professor of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies and Faculty Affiliate of Global Studies. “Mapping Queer Transnationalism.”

Thursday, November 10: Kyle Stevens, Assistant Professor of English. “Size Matters: Comedy, Performance, and Stereotype in La cage aux folles.”
